Storytelling Experience | Kayan

Being is a short film developed through Seen’s Storytelling Experience, a creative and reflective process designed to unlock authentic stories and transform them into cinematic narratives. This project was built in collaboration with Hadeel, who stepped into the experience to explore and share her journey in a deeply personal yet universally resonant way.
The Process
The creation of Being followed Seen’s unique three-stage storytelling framework:
Story Unlocking – Through guided conversations and reflective exercises, Hadeel was invited to revisit key moments, emotions, and questions shaping her identity. This phase created a safe and open space for her to articulate her story in her own voice.
Creative Translation – Together, we translated Hadeel’s narrative into visual metaphors, cinematic mood, and narrative structure.
Cinematic Realization – The filming process focused on authenticity rather than performance. Each frame was designed to capture the essence of being—the subtleties of silence, presence, and inner emotion. Editing and sound design then wove these moments into a short film that reflects both intimacy and universality.
